Honor Veterans at Commerce City’s
Memorial Day Parade
9:15 A.M. CEREMONY/10:00 A.M. PARADE START AT VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK
Colorado’s largest Memorial Day parade enters its 53rd year of honoring veterans Monday, May 29, 2017. The 1.5-mile parade route kicks off at 10 a.m. at E. 64th Avenue and Newport Street, ending near the recreation center at 6060 E. Parkway Drive.
The family friendly, annual Memorial Day parade honors veterans for their service to the country. This year’s event will feature a skydiving tribute to our troops and more than 90 military units, bands, floats, antique cars and horse entries.
U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter will present the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin to this year’s grand marshals at the ceremony. The lapel pinning ceremony is part of a national program honoring military service members on active duty between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975, regardless of where they served. The parade gets underway immediately following the ceremony.
The parade is held rain or shine. Parade participation and admission is free. More information and the route map is available at c3gov.com/parade.
